Welcome to Monte Lebanon!
Rooted in the timeless Montessori philosophy, our new space provides a nurturing environment where curiosity leads, concentration deepens, and a lifelong love of learning is ignited. At Monte Lebanon, we believe in the power of the child.

As Dr. Maria Montessori said, 'The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence'.

From the first steps of our Infant community to the confident leadership of our Adolescents, we guide each child on a unique journey of self-discovery, independence, and purpose.

Our Philosophy
Montessori: A Time-Tested Approach, a Timeless Philosophy
More than a method, Montessori is a philosophy of life. Based on the scientific observations of Dr. Maria Montessori, our approach is centered on respecting the child's natural development. We honor the 'prepared environment' where carefully designed materials invite purposeful work and intellectual exploration.
Learning with Nature as Our Guide
Our connection to the outdoors is integral to our curriculum. Our beautiful grounds are an extension of the classroom, providing a space for discovery, 'risky play,' and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Children learn through direct experience, whether it's tending to a garden or observing the seasons change.
Peace Education & Conflict Resolution: Cultivating a Culture of Peace
Peace is not just the absence of conflict; it is a skill we teach every day. Children learn to communicate their feelings, listen to others, and resolve conflicts with respect and empathy. We foster a community built on kindness, understanding, and mutual respect.
Mindful Technology
We recognize the profound impact of technology on growing minds and strive to create an environment where technology serves as a purposeful tool rather than a pervasive presence. There will be zero smart tech or screens in the Infant & Casa communities. For older students, technology is introduced as a tool for research, with specialized courses on topics like digital citizenship and ethical internet use.

"Becoming a mother taught me the profound importance of making conscious choices every day and ignited a passion to protect the magic of childhood. This is the driving force behind my commitment to making authentic Montessori education more widespread in Lebanon.
My goal is to bring the highest standards and practices to our community, ensuring we create a safe space where every child feels secure, seen, and loved.

I unwind through weaving treenets, macrame, and embroidery and I'm constantly seeking out new courses and workshops!"

"Montessori education cares for the whole child. Each child progresses at their own individual learning pace- protecting and fostering their natural desire to learn. Children are offered the skills to become independent, capable and contributing members of society. I am honored to guide children along their elementary years and watch them grow.
I enjoy rock climbing, mindfulness activities and handwork. I enjoy sharing and expanding these passions with my students."

"I grew up surrounded by Parisian cafés and museums, with vacations in the Alpine mountains and the Normandy countryside. This has given me a variety of experiences, from studying to traveling for a year in Ireland and attending art school.
When the pace of life slowed down, I discovered the desire to create: making bags, stuffed animals, texts, poems, stories for children. But something was missing: the transmission of knowledge.
So I trained at the AMI institute and discovered of a beautiful world where children are listened to, protected, and respected.
Fate brought me to meet a Lebanese man who introduced me to Lebanon and its dissonant beauty.
Here I am, a Montessori educator, passionate about art, crafts, and children's literature, with thousands of books adorning my bookshelves."

"I am passionate about Montessori education and dedicated to guiding children in ways that nurture their independence, curiosity, and love of learning. Inspired by the elementary years, I believe in empowering children to explore knowledge with joy and purpose.
My goal is to contribute to the growth of Montessori education in our community and to carry forward its vision of fostering human potential.
I love to travel and discover new cultures. I’m always curious to try local foods, learn a few words in a new language, and bring those little adventures back to share with the children."

"I believe that Montessori education shapes not just great learners, but great human beings. As a former scout member and chief, I see a beautiful connection between the scout movement and Montessori pedagogy: both value independence, teamwork, and learning by doing. In my opinion, peace and social justice can only be established through an environment that nurtures compassionate, confident, creative and socially conscious individuals, and Montessori is a pioneer in this. And the best part? It does all this with curiosity, joy and fun at its heart.
I speak four languages and love sunflowers!"

Does my child need to be toilet-trained for the Infant Community?
No, children joining our Infant Community (18 months - 3 years) are not required to be toilet-trained, however they need to be steadily walking.

Our grounds serve as an outdoor classroom, encouraging discovery, 'risky' play, and caring for plants.

What languages are taught at Monte Lebanon?
  • French: The primary language in Casa.
  • English: The primary language in Elementary. French lessons are optional.
  • Arabic: Taught by assistant guides and a dedicated language teacher across all environments.
As our community grows, we aim to have guides leading in multiple languages in each section.
Do you accept children from non-Montessori programs?
We are happy to welcome all children from non-Montessori programs up to the age of 5. For children beyond age 5 and up to ages 8-9, we can still accept them on a case-by-case basis. We take this approach to best support your child's needs. The Montessori curriculum provides a strong foundation during the crucial concrete learning phase, and without this base, it can be challenging for a child to adjust and fully integrate into our program. Our goal is to ensure every child has the best opportunity to thrive in our environment.
Our Community: A True Partnership
We believe that a thriving educational environment is built on strong collaboration between us and your home. We invite you to join us in fostering a supportive community where every child can flourish.

1. Parent Partnership

We view parents as essential partners in their child's education, creating a seamless bridge between home and school. Resources are provided to help integrate Montessori principles into your family life. We ask for your commitment to our nature-based philosophy and modeling respectful communication.

2. Staying Connected

Open and transparent communication is ensured through platforms like Transparent Classroom for monthly progress updates, complemented by dedicated twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences. For urgent matters, immediate contact by phone is always available.

3. Community Life & Celebrations

A vibrant community thrives on the partnership between families and educators. We host events reflecting our nature-based philosophy, such as annual Planting & Harvesting Festivals. Parents are encouraged to support field trips, share their profession in 'A Day in the Life' presentations, and attend cultural celebrations. New families are required to attend an 'Introduction to Montessori' session and complete one classroom observation per year.

4. Your Child’s Well-Being is Our Priority

We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Our comprehensive policies on child protection, emergency procedures, health, and anti-bullying protect and support every child. Please report all known allergies and medical conditions, and keep your child home if they have a fever of 38°C or higher.

5. Key Dates & Yearly Calendar
